This can be done using the Trim Technique or the Wedge Technique. 

Trim Technique

The trim method labiaplasty also known as the “edge excision” is done by making a linear cut along the edge of the inner lip.

A clitoral hood reduction can be combined with a labiaplasty using the Trim technique through the same incision.

Wedge Technique

With the Wedge Technique a V-shaped tissue is excised from the center of the labia. Then stitches are made on the two edges to tighten the whole labia.

This technique addresses the asymmetry between the two folds and reduces the length. However, it does not remove the hyperpigmented (dark) tissue on the edge of the labia.
